Sibusiso Moyo has left friends, family and loved ones heart-broken as the news surrounding the death of Sibusiso Moyo was announced. Information about the death of the deceased was released across social media on May 25, 2021.

Moyo served as Major General of the Zimbabwe National Army, before being promoted to Lieutenant General to the retirement in December 2017. Was promoted from Brigadier General to Major General by President Robert Mugabe in January 2016.

Moyo gave a statement to the state broadcaster Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation on November 15, 2017, a day after Mugabe’s house arrest. He denied that there had been a coup , stating that “the president and his family are safe and sound and their safety is guaranteed” and that the military only targeted the criminals around [Mugabe] who are committing crimes. and causing the social and economic suffering of the country ”. Moyo went on to state that “as soon as we have accomplished our mission, we hope that everything returns to normal.”

Three days later, Moyo thanked all Zimbabweans who marched in solidarity to oust Mugabe from power. His role in the army announcing its intervention to remove Mugabe, along with his youthful appearance, earned him the nickname “General Bae.”

Moyo was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade on November 30, 2017 by Emmerson Mnangagwa, who replaced Mugabe as president.

He was one of three Mnangagwa cabinet ministers who was not a member of parliament (the other two were Perrance Shiri and Kirsty Coventry ). Due to his public role in overthrowing Mugabe, the press speculated that Mnangagwa had chosen him as his successor. Moyo was present at the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London. As Minister he strove to improve the country’s battered image internationally.
