William Bennett Death – Cause of Death: Prominent British flute player, William Bennett dies aged 86 | Obituary News.

Bennett has played with most of the major British orchestras, including the BBC Northern (Philharmonic), Sadlers Wells Opera, the London Symphony Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields.

An online obituary on Thursday, May 12, announced the passing of William Bennett. He died on Wednesday night following a period suffering with motor neurone disease. He was 86 years old.

Bennett was born in London to parents who were both architects. At the age of 22, Bennett started working in his first principal flute position in the BBC Northern orchestra (now the BBC Philharmonic).
